A Bit About Royce

From a young age, Royce developed a strong interest in the creative and performing arts.

Beginning in church, he channeled his creativity into worship by directing Christmas and Easter presentations and leading Sunday School and midweek youth programs. This is where his love for the performing arts truly took flight.

​

At the age of 13, Royce participated in his first ballet, "The Nutcracker," with the Richland Ballet at Richland Community College under the direction of Nancy McReynolds.

At the age of 15, he started formal ballet training within the Richland Community College dance department with Nancy McReynolds. He continued his training with Greg Merriman at McLean County Dance and has since trained with prestigious institutions such as American Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Magnificat, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, and Pacific Northwest Ballet.

At 17, Royce began instructing primary ballet and tumbling, later adding intermediate and advanced ballet classes. He also co-directed a youth dance company and assisted with annual ballet productions.

At 19, Royce felt called to co-found and become the co-owner of Exodus Arts. This organization operated for five years and had the mission of sharing Jesus' message through the arts. As an instructor of dance and theatre, Royce utilized his passion for the stage to create Paraelle Ballet Theatre, which led to the development of his first full-length ballet, "Drummer Boy."

Royce has had the honor of performing in many musical theatre productions of A Christmas Carol, Anything Goes,
